This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the technology finance team in managing K12 corporate finance operations.
• Act as a financial strategic partner to Senior Management within the Technology sector.
• Convert financial results into actionable operational insights and recommendations.
• Assist in guiding financial management in relation to enterprise roadmaps and staffing needs.
• Direct the monthly and quarterly closing procedures for the technology organization.
• Facilitate executive decision-making through financial modeling and trade-off assessments.
• Assess the impacts of investment alterations and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators and unit economics for technology investment expenditures.
• Create metrics to evaluate return on investment and business outcomes for enterprise initiatives.
• Supervise the risk analysis and management process; convert product and technology roadmaps into long-term financial strategies.
• Collaborate with technology leadership to evaluate the financial implications of roadmap modifications, timing adjustments, and prioritization choices.
• Assist in investment decisions, including new product development, enhancements, and the phasing out of systems.
• Track workforce hiring progress, attrition rates, and capacity constraints; provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Conduct business case evaluations to assess build vs. buy vs. outsource options.
• Monitor utilization and optimize licensing expenses in collaboration with procurement and technology teams.
• Oversee and manage the activities of all technology finance personnel; lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing FP&A team that supports technology functions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and audit standards.
• Collaborate with accounting to guarantee the correct treatment of software development costs (CapEx, SaaS deferred, OpEx).
• Provide monthly forecasts on capitalization and amortization impacts.
• Assist in vendor negotiations and contract renewal strategies.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in public accounting along with financial reporting and analysis.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a management role.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
• Strong capabilities in research and analysis.
• Ability to function effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
• Proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Customer service-focused approach.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Outstanding time management and organizational abilities.
• Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Ability to pass a background check as required.
