Director, Finance – Temporary

📋 Description

• Act as the key manager of LEEs general ledger and ensure the integrity of financial reporting across all entities, such as 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PACs.

• Oversee the monthly and year-end closing processes.

• Assist in monitoring the internal control framework.

• Provide daily supervision of the accounting operations to guarantee accuracy, transparency, and adherence to non-profit accounting standards.

• Manage the general ledger and lead the consolidation and closing processes for both monthly and year-end.

• Review and authorize all journal entries, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.

• Conduct reconciliations for bank and investment accounts.

• Keep the official LEE accounting policies and procedures manual up to date.

• Assist in the preparation of the annual Form 990 and state charitable registration submissions.

• Participate in team-level, organization-wide, or cross-team special projects as assigned by the manager or their designee.

• Provide temporary coverage for other finance team responsibilities during absences, vacancies, or PTO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a combination of relevant experience and training.

• Over 5 years of professional accounting experience, including at least one year managing a general ledger and month-end closing.

• Proven proficiency in Sage Intacct and its integrated applications.

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and ASC 958.

• Experience in multi-entity nonprofit accounting, covering intercompany transactions and consolidation.

• Demonstrated experience in managing or supporting external audit procedures.

• Strong Excel skills, with experience in reconciliation workflows and financial analysis.

• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a geographically diverse team.
