This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Take charge of daily strategy and operational responsibilities for a team of 10-15 government contracts specialists and consulting professionals.
• Manage, develop, and achieve results for a portfolio valued between $4M and $5M.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on aspects such as staffing, capacity planning, revenue forecasting, utilization, quality of delivery, and growth of the practice.
• Lead intricate client engagements for GovCon clients focused on defense.
• Provide guidance to prime contractors regarding the interpretation, execution, and risks associated with FAR and DFARS contracts.
• Utilize comprehensive expertise in government contracts throughout all stages including formation, execution, modifications, compliance, pricing, procurement, and associated delivery risks.
• Act as a senior escalation contact for matters relating to contract strategy, client delivery, and execution.
• Propel process enhancements linked to delivery quality, pricing assistance, repeatability, and Firm Fixed Price execution.
• Extensive experience with the full lifecycle of government contracts, preferably within defense contracting or defense-oriented GovCon environments.
• Profound understanding of FAR and DFARS, with the capability to interpret and apply contract clauses in practical situations.
• Significant practical experience in contract execution, beyond merely providing high-level advisory or legal review.
• Experience in supporting or advising prime contractors; candidates with a focus primarily on subcontract administration may be less suitable.
• Proven experience in team leadership, managing service delivery, and ensuring accountability for results.
• Capability to oversee a substantial portfolio, including client delivery, team utilization, quality assurance, and commercial effectiveness.
• Strong judgment in client interactions, capable of advising senior stakeholders in complex federal contracting scenarios.
• Ability to develop scalable processes, establish repeatable service models, and maintain operational discipline within a growing professional services firm.
• A minimum of 8 years of pertinent GovCon contract experience; candidates with significantly more experience are welcomed, but relevance and depth are prioritized over mere years of service.
