This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.
• Lead and implement external communication strategies that bolster argenx’s corporate narrative across media, patient advocacy, and policy audiences in the United States.
• Convert company priorities, scientific advancements, and pipeline developments into clear and cohesive corporate storytelling that resonates beyond individual products.
• Provide a strong perspective on how argenx should present itself in external discussions, identifying areas to lead, engage, and maintain discipline.
• Exercise sound judgment in complex and ambiguous situations, balancing scientific, patient, policy, and reputational factors.
• Design and implement coordinated communication strategies that integrate earned media, patient advocacy involvement, and policy context into a comprehensive external presence.
• Establish and nurture relationships with key media outlets, advocacy organizations, and relevant stakeholders to boost argenx’s visibility and credibility.
• Anticipate external responses and craft proactive corporate messaging that contextualizes communications across media, advocacy, and policy audiences.
• Monitor the external landscape across media, advocacy, and policy to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
• Assist in crisis communications planning and execution, ensuring alignment with corporate narrative and stakeholder expectations.
• Foster alignment across Corporate Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Government Affairs, and Product Communications, navigating competing priorities to maintain consistency in argenx’s external representation.
• Over 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, media relations, patient advocacy communications, or a related field (preferably in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or health/life sciences).
• Proven experience in issues and crisis communications, particularly within a regulated environment.
• Established experience collaborating with advocacy groups, patient organizations, and rare disease associations.
• Knowledge of the U.S. health, policy, regulatory, reimbursement, and/or legislative landscape.
• Exceptional writing, editorial, and presentation abilities.
• Capability to distill complex scientific and technical information into clear, engaging narratives.
• Strong connections with U.S. media in biotech and health sectors.
• Experience working with senior executives as spokespersons.
• Comfortable functioning in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
