Director, Emerging Technologies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation and implementation of the organization's AI and innovation strategy.

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to convert business requirements, market trends, and technical capabilities into actionable use cases, pilot programs, proofs of value, and recommendations for adoption.

• Provide guidance for AI experimentation, vendor assessment, proof-of-concept development, and readiness for implementation.

• Act as a subject matter expert to leaders by pinpointing areas where AI and emerging technologies can enhance productivity.

• Direct the identification, assessment, prioritization, and initial incubation of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies that align with organizational strategy and enhance operational efficiency.

• Lead a small team and potentially coordinate with consultants, contractors, or cross-functional contributors involved in designated innovation projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business, engineering, or a related field is required, or equivalent experience.

• At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in technology, digital transformation, innovation, enterprise architecture, artificial intelligence, business transformation, or similar roles.

• This must include three (3) years of direct management or supervisory experience.

• This must also include three (3) years of experience in supporting or leading the evaluation, prioritization, pilot design, and adoption planning for AI capabilities such as generative AI, conversational AI, workflow enhancement, or comparable technologies.

• Proficient understanding of AI domains and enabling technologies, including generative AI, machine learning principles, prompt design principles, conversational AI, model lifecycle considerations, integration methodologies, and cloud technologies.

• Capability to identify high-impact AI use cases and assess and prioritize opportunities based on business value, technical feasibility, implementation complexity, risk and compliance factors, and model traceability when proposing new capabilities.

• Familiarity with information security, data privacy, model governance, third-party risk, and change management practices pertinent to the adoption of new technologies.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
