This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Formulate and implement both short-term and long-term strategies to aid the STACK Development team in integrating data center projects.
• Oversee and assess consultant studies.
• Assist the development team with transmission requirements.
• Foster relationships with external stakeholders.
• Manage the load-interconnection process and act as the primary utility contact for data center initiatives.
• Cultivate and maintain utility relationships.
• Document the processes for utility load-interconnection, financial responsibilities, cost obligations, timelines, and milestones related to power commitments.
• Assist in the evaluation of utility contracts.
• Predict and oversee utility project budgets.
• Aid in leasing activities and create project business cases alongside the development team.
• Assess and validate potential data center locations for power delivery feasibility and utility timelines.
• Formulate strategies with the Vice President of Transmission Strategy to enhance internal processes.
• Evaluate utility and ISO/RTO planning methodologies, modeling assumptions, cost recovery approaches, cost distribution, and load-interconnection protocols.
• Support the management of utility and RTO/ISO relationships for site due diligence, interconnection requests, studies, and alternative transmission solutions.
• Collaborate with the STACK Energy and STACK Policy teams on processes related to data center integration and policy initiatives.
• Create presentations, monitor market trends, and provide weekly and biweekly updates.
• Work with preconstruction, supply chain, design and engineering, sales, legal, and tax teams.
• Assist in developing business cases and recommendations for leadership approval.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience in the energy sector.
• Familiarity with load interconnection processes.
• Proven experience in managing and owning external relationships.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent analytical, detail-oriented, creative-thinking, and communication abilities.
• Capability to convey technical concepts to non-technical team members.
• Aptitude for identifying problems and proposing effective solutions.
• Comfort in developing processes and implementing organizational strategies and procedures.
• Ability to execute, process, and prioritize tasks with little to no supervision.
• Competence in managing multiple projects and collaborating with internal staff, external consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
