This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take the initiative to build and manage essential dbt models utilized for reporting in finance, product, sales, and customer success — this role requires a hands-on approach and is not meant for delegation.
• Lead the development and enhancement of FiscalNote's enterprise analytics and reporting framework, acting as the definitive source of truth for business performance data.
• Anticipate analytical needs and create reporting solutions proactively, providing insights rather than merely responding to requests.
• Offer both functional and technical guidance across key BI platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Fivetran, Segment, Heap, Metabase, and Stitch.
• Serve as the primary technical administrator and functional leader for Metabase and Heap.
• Establish and uphold the reporting infrastructure within Metabase, ensuring that dashboards are precise, efficient, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

• Prepare and present data models and reports for board and investor meetings aimed at senior leadership (CFO, CEO, CRO).
• Assist with M&A due diligence for both acquisitions and divestitures; spearhead data separation and migration efforts linked to transactions.
• Oversee audit-related tasks for relevant data systems, including controls, documentation, and compliance measures.
• Promote data governance and quality standards across all managed platforms.
• Collaborate with various departments, including sales, marketing, finance, operations, product, and engineering, on data and analytics projects.

• Oversee system performance, scalability, security, and compliance across all managed platforms.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related domain, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
• Proven player/coach mentality — equally effective as an individual contributor and team leader, taking pride in both roles.
• Advanced SQL expertise with extensive, hands-on experience in querying and optimizing within Snowflake; capable of writing complex, production-grade SQL independently.
• Significant experience constructing data models from Salesforce data, along with a solid understanding of Salesforce's object structure, relationships, and typical data quality issues.
• Practical experience in building and maintaining dbt models within a production environment.
• Proficiency with contemporary data stack tools, including Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran, and Segment.
• Experience in developing and managing reports in Metabase or similar BI platforms; familiarity with ThoughtSpot or Sigma is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with and working knowledge of NetSuite, Coupa, Zendesk, and Gong data structures and integrations (preferred).
• Proven history of delivering executive-level analytics and reporting to C-suite stakeholders.

• Strong data governance perspective with experience in establishing quality standards and documentation practices.
• Experience in managing and scaling small, high-impact technical teams.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Experience supporting M&A due diligence or system migrations in a corporate transaction context (preferred).
• Familiarity with SOX or similar audit and compliance frameworks related to data systems (preferred).
• Experience driving AI/ML or intelligent automation initiatives within a business analytics framework (preferred).
