This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Negotiate initial or renewal contract terms and reimbursement with designated market payers.

• Manage several simultaneous negotiation activities while utilizing strong project management skills to advance specific market strategies for optimal reimbursement.

• Build and sustain relationships between AmSurg providers and payers in relation to contracting.

• Oversee the updating and maintenance of a consolidated contract management system to ensure precise tracking of reimbursement terms and conditions.

• Establish consistent communication and robust inter-company relationships while monitoring payer issues concerning provider participation, contract loading, and payment issues alongside the Revenue Cycle team.

• Assist in formulating departmental objectives, implementing projects to reach these targets, and collaborating closely with others in the HPR Department to continually assess departmental performance.

• Facilitate the onboarding of acquisitions and new entities/locations to payer contracts as required.

• Generate reports and presentations by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

• In partnership with the Vice President, evaluate contract performance data and conduct onsite visits with payers, clients, and centers requiring market-specific strategies.

• Capable of functioning in a matrix environment where multiple and competing customer demands may arise.

• Provide internal training or educational resources related to health plan contracting.

• This position involves overnight travel up to 25% of the time.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree focused on finance, accounting, or healthcare administration.

• Six to ten years of relevant experience in healthcare, including managed care contracting, payment methodologies, contract language, negotiations, and financial analysis.

• Strong negotiation skills with national and regional payers.

• Solid knowledge of payer contract language and various payment methodologies.

• Ability to build rapport with providers, external vendors/payers, and employees at all organizational levels.

• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent ability to meet deadlines.

• Proven proficiency in financial reporting, utilization trends, and patient mix based on data analysis.

• Experience in a matrix environment where multiple and competing customer demands are common.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Capable of managing conflict positively.

• Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and action.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
