This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Contribute compliance and risk management insights throughout the complete design, development, and implementation phases of new Upgrade products and services.
• Create innovative solutions that enable the business to advance while ensuring consumer compliance and robust risk management practices.
• Offer product and compliance expertise to Upgrade issue management teams.
• Collaborate with the Product Legal team to assess and pinpoint strategies for managing risk.
• Analyze regulatory risk, including current risks and possible regulatory changes, within product frameworks.
• Steer the development and assessment of company-wide compliance policies and procedures.
• Deliver essential risk and compliance reports to executive leadership and the board.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on consumer financial services laws and regulations.
• Represent Upgrade on matters related to regulatory, audit, and bank partner issues as required.
• Over 10 years of experience in consumer financial services compliance.
• Required experience in mortgage, HELOC, or dedicated home improvement lending.
• Familiarity with credit card products is advantageous.
• Strong negotiation abilities and a proactive, “no surprises” approach in communicating issues.
• Capacity to maintain independent perspectives while fostering collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• Skill in analyzing macro-level risk trends and recognizing shifts in risk levels or breakdowns in process control.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to adjust communication styles based on the audience.
• Solid project management, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Previous fintech experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory for all positions.
