Director Communication

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the global communication strategy that aligns with Seco’s mission to enhance manufacturing efficiency, simplicity, and sustainability.

• Lead a senior communications team of four prospective members, supported by agency partners.

• Propel thought leadership initiatives focused on sustainability and the future landscape of manufacturing.

• Safeguard and enhance Seco’s public image through effective reputation management, media relations, and crisis communication.

• Spearhead communication efforts related to change and transformation, encompassing strategy, culture, and organizational development.

• Provide expert communication guidance and content for the President of Seco and other senior executives.

• Collaborate with teams in Sales, Offer & Innovation, Strategy, Sustainability, HR, and Sandvik Group/Machining communications.

• Oversee the communication budget and agency partnerships, prioritizing business value and cost efficiency.

• Report directly to the Vice President of Brand, Marketing, and Communication.

• Shape and further develop a newly formed communication department.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven communications leader with extensive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields.

• Preferably experienced in a global or multinational setting.

• Degree in communications or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated managerial experience in guiding, coaching, and developing teams.

• Strong expertise in internal communications, leadership messaging, and employee engagement.

• Experience in managing external communications and media relations.

• Proficient in planning and executing crisis communication strategies.

• Experience working in project-driven, cross-functional environments.

• Ability to manage budgets, projects, and agency collaborations effectively.

• Excellent prioritization and time management abilities.

• Capacity to cultivate relationships with media, industry leaders, and key stakeholders.

• Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.

• Possess a growth mindset, personal accountability, and a commitment to collective success.

• Ability to operate across diverse cultures, functions, and leadership teams.

• Skill in transforming insights, feedback, and data into impactful communication.
