This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the profitable renewal process for designated clients, which includes developing strategies, coordinating internal resources, and negotiating externally with plan sponsors and benefits consultants.
• Lead the development of Annual Client Plans for each account by establishing goals, assessing risks, documenting strategies, and driving implementation.
• Proactively recognize and address risks to client retention; escalate high-risk circumstances with suggested action plans.
• Cultivate and sustain trusted peer-level relationships with national and regional benefits consultants and brokers who support the assigned book of business.
• Oversee and manage the profitability of the book, ensuring it aligns with designated thresholds and financial objectives.
• Collaborate with assigned SAEs to create annual analyses of pharmacy benefit performance and strategic recommendations for each client.
• Directly manage SAEs and AEs; establish clear expectations, provide consistent coaching, and conduct performance assessments.
• A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, or a health-related master’s) is preferred.
• More than 7 years of progressive experience in pharmacy benefit management, health plan account management, or a closely related healthcare environment.
• At least 3 years of experience in a management or team lead role.
• Experience in the PBM industry is essential.
• Experience managing TPA, coalition, or self-funded employer accounts is highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of PBM contracting mechanics, including pricing models (AWP, WAC, pass-through), rebate structures, formulary design, and performance guarantees.
• Strong skills in relationship management, with the ability to navigate complex environments involving multiple stakeholders (clients, consultants, internal operations).
• Demonstrated capability to present financial and performance data to C-suite executives and benefits decision-makers.
• Proficient in CRM platforms and account management reporting tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; executive presence is required.
• Highly collaborative, with the ability to work across clinical, operations, finance, and marketing functions.
