This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the complete catalog operations process for both new and existing TOOLBX customers.
• Create scalable workflows for the intake, cleanup, enrichment, mapping, categorization, QA, and maintenance of product data.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality assurance checklists, service level agreements (SLAs), templates, and playbooks for the catalog operations team.
• Identify and address bottlenecks within the current catalog onboarding process, implementing necessary enhancements.
• Ensure that catalog operations are repeatable, measurable, and not reliant on informal knowledge or manual interventions.
• Take ownership of TOOLBX’s Product Information Management (PIM) operating strategy, including the structure, governance, enrichment, and maintenance of product data.
• Establish standards for product taxonomy, categories, brands, attributes, images, descriptions, units of measure, and product relationships.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance PIM tools, internal workflows, data models, and automation processes.
• Help ascertain what tasks should be performed manually, via tooling, through vendor/manufacturer feeds, or through AI solutions.
• Utilize AI tools to enhance catalog operations and minimize manual labor.
• Lead or assist in dealer-facing catalog walkthroughs during the onboarding process.
• Clearly articulate catalog structure, data gaps, product data requirements, and launch readiness in a manner that is friendly to customers.
• Develop repeatable processes for sourcing product data from vendors, brands, manufacturers, customers, and ERP exports.
• Establish standards for ingesting, cleaning, normalizing, and maintaining third-party product data.
• Manage and nurture a small catalog/merchandising operations team.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in catalog operations, PIM, product data management, eCommerce operations, marketplace operations, merchandising operations, data operations, or a related field.
• Experience working with extensive, complex, multi-source product datasets.
• Strong comprehension of product taxonomy, categorization, attributes, enrichment, images, descriptions, units of measure, and data quality.
• Demonstrated ability to create operational processes, workflows, SOPs, QA systems, and team playbooks.
• Practical experience with PIM systems, spreadsheets, databases, automation tools, workflow tools, or product data platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in using AI tools to enhance productivity, automate workflows, clean data, enrich content, and elevate operational quality.
• Strong project management and process design capabilities.
• Ability to manage a small team while remaining actively involved in operations.
• Excellent customer communication skills, particularly regarding complex data, implementation, or catalog subjects.
• A background in construction supplies or related industry knowledge is advantageous.
