Director, Business Operations – New Partnerships

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage the partnerships pipeline for Jerry's new product offerings, spanning from initial outreach to signed contracts and effective onboarding.

• Independently lead discussions with insurance carriers and partners - assessing partner suitability, understanding their needs, crafting the appropriate value proposition, and navigating the closing process.

• Create innovative deal structures for partners who may not fit into conventional models. If the typical approach is met with resistance, you will identify alternative arrangements that facilitate the partnership.

• Take ownership of partner success after closing — collaborate with internal teams to ensure new partners ramp up effectively, remain engaged, and evolve into long-term relationships instead of one-off transactions.

• Contribute to the vertical strategy — your firsthand insights into what partners will and won't accept directly inform how we develop and sequence new product initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or strategy consulting with a proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals.

• Experience in building from the ground up: you have launched a new partnership category, entered a new market, or established a business development function without a pre-existing model.

• A background that encompasses at least two of the following: consulting or structured problem-solving, business development or sales execution, and operating experience in early-stage startups.

• Proven ability to engage with senior external stakeholders and navigate large partner organizations autonomously.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills: you can convey a complex deal structure clearly and convincingly to an executive audience.
