This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee the Colleague Benefits & Wellbeing division at Sound Physicians, which encompasses health and welfare plans, retirement options, voluntary benefits, and wellbeing initiatives.
β’ Collaborate with the VP to develop, communicate, and implement a multi-year Benefits strategy that aligns with Soundβs positioning as a practice of choice and focuses on clinician attraction and retention.
β’ Manage all vendor and broker relationships, encompassing renewal strategies, RFPs, performance management, contract negotiations, and escalation procedures.
β’ Direct the annual benefits planning process, offering plan design recommendations and overseeing the comprehensive Open Enrollment procedure, including the educational and communication strategies that support it.
β’ Ensure compliance and maintain audit schedules related to ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, DC nondiscrimination testing, 5500 filings, and state-specific regulations.
β’ Create, implement, and continuously enhance wellbeing programs that are integrated into daily operations.
β’ Travel to new hospital implementations and key sites to ensure effective communication of benefits to incoming clinicians and to establish strong relationships with hospital partners and site leaders.
β’ Organize and facilitate an annual benefits fair during Sound's Medical Director Summit.
β’ Guide the year-round colleague benefits education and communication strategy, including the Benefits Hub, OE presentations, and ongoing engagement campaigns.
β’ Evaluate plan utilization, cost trends, and population health data to inform decisions on plan design, vendor selection, and medical trend mitigation strategies.
β’ A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in benefits and total rewards.
β’ At least 3-5 years in a director or senior leadership position.
β’ Preferably experienced in healthcare, physician services, hospital systems, or multi-site organizations.
β’ CEBS, CBP, or a comparable professional certification is strongly preferred.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, Section 125, nondiscrimination testing, 5500 filings, and multi-state benefits compliance.
β’ Proven experience in managing benefits brokers, carriers, and administrative platforms.
β’ Experience in leading enterprise-wide benefits initiatives, including renewals, plan transitions, vendor changes, and significant communication efforts.
β’ Strong skills in commercial and contract negotiation; capable of challenging vendors regarding performance and value.
β’ Proficient in data and analytics; able to translate plan utilization, claims, and cost data into actionable decisions for plan design and budgeting.
