This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Support and implement the Bank's AML/CFT governance framework.
• Create and uphold governance standards for policies, procedures, oversight routines, and escalation processes.
• Assist in the management of AML/CFT governance committees and working groups.
• Evaluate AML/CFT processes and pinpoint opportunities to enhance program effectiveness.
• Aid in managing AML/CFT program issues, corrective action plans, escalation, resolution, and remediation.
• Monitor and report on financial crime risks and the effectiveness of controls.
• Facilitate regulatory examinations, audits, and independent reviews.
• Keep abreast of regulatory developments, enforcement actions, and industry trends.
• Oversee the daily execution of the AML/CFT Quality Control program.
• Design, implement, and maintain a risk-based quality control framework.
• Identify control weaknesses, process inefficiencies, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct trend analysis and root cause assessments.
• Establish quality standards, review methodologies, sampling protocols, and performance metrics.
• Monitor remediation efforts and validate corrective actions.
• Develop and convey quality metrics and performance results.
• Manage the development, governance, validation, and delivery of executive and committee reporting.
• Create and maintain management information systems, dashboards, scorecards, and reporting packages.
• Establish and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Key Control Indicators (KCIs).
• Analyze and communicate trends related to transaction monitoring, suspicious activity, sanctions screening, customer risk profiles, investigations, and quality control outcomes.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, completeness, and consistency in management and regulatory reporting.
• Prepare and present program performance, risk trends, control effectiveness, regulatory developments, and remediation progress.
• Collaborate with Technology and Data Management teams on reporting capabilities, automation, data governance, and efficiency.
• Provide operational leadership for assigned team members and activities.
• Mentor, develop, and support team members.
• Set performance expectations, accountability standards, and departmental objectives.
• Assist in resource planning, prioritization, and workload management.
• Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, regulators, auditors, and business line partners.
• Lead initiatives to enhance governance, improve controls, optimize reporting, and increase program maturity.
• Advocate for change related to regulatory requirements, technology implementations, process improvements, and business growth.
• Foster accountability, sound risk management, and compliance throughout the organization.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Compliance, or a related field is required.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• Preferred certifications include Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS), and Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM).
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in AML/CFT Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Compliance, or related regulatory, governance, or control functions within a regulated financial industry.
• A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing people, projects, or complex compliance program activities.
• Proven experience leading governance, quality control, quality assurance, compliance testing, reporting, or oversight functions within a regulated financial institution.
• Extensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering regulations, OFAC regulations, FinCEN requirements, the USA PATRIOT Act, and related banking regulations.
• Experience in developing and presenting management, committee, and senior leadership reporting.
• Experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, independent testing reviews, and remediation programs.
• Experience working within, consulting for, or supervising a mid-sized or large financial institution, preferably one with assets exceeding $8 billion.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, lead strategic initiatives, and drive cross-functional collaboration in a highly regulated environment.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
