Director, AI Security Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the research agenda for autonomous agentic AI systems across various cybersecurity applications.

• Establish scientific objectives, influence research initiatives, conduct experiments, analyze outcomes, and tackle challenging issues alongside the team.

• Propel innovative research on effective models for security workflows, encompassing post-training, reward modeling, and data curation.

• Take the lead on experimental projects addressing complex research challenges.

• Create methodologies for evaluation, verification, and validation of models, data, agent designs, and complete systems.

• Develop benchmarks, adversarial evaluation frameworks, and measurement practices.

• Collaborate with security researchers, threat intelligence experts, detection engineers, and product development teams.

• Define abstractions for agent capabilities and tools rooted in security operations.

• Enhance the science of agent design, including harnesses, scaffolding, planning, memory, tool usage, and multi-step reasoning.

• Introduce innovative techniques through publications and adherence to standards.

• Lead teams of scientists and engineers while maintaining an active role in research.

⛳️ Requirements

• MS or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in data science, ML/DL, or AI with a focus on large-scale data challenges.

• Practical expertise in contemporary LLM post-training methodologies.

• Proven research contributions or experience in developing agentic systems.

• Strong focus on evaluation practices, including designing, enhancing, or validating methodologies.

• Hands-on leadership approach with personal technical input.

• Experience in offensive security, detection engineering, incident response, or applied research in threat intelligence is a plus.

• Familiarity with designing RL environments and synthetic data pipelines for agent tuning is advantageous.

• Experience engaging in regulatory, compliance, or audit discussions regarding AI systems is beneficial.

• A background in mentoring and developing security researchers is a plus.
