Director, AI Platform – Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the roadmap for the AI platform and transformation that aligns with business priorities and measurable outcomes.

• Prioritize AI initiatives across Clinical Operations, Commercial, Finance, Customer Care, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and enterprise functions.

• Lead projects from initial discovery to production launch, ensuring adoption and continuous improvement.

• Design and scale AI applications and platforms utilizing generative AI, LLMs, RAG, agents, workflow orchestration, and model evaluation.

• Collaborate with the Data Platform and Engineering teams to create governed data products, semantic definitions, metadata, data lineage, and ensure data quality for AI systems.

• Set standards for reliability, autoscaling, performance, security, privacy, testing, monitoring, observability, incident response, lifecycle management, and cost management.

• Develop business cases, value-realization plans, governance playbooks, and executive reports.

• Lead and expand teams and strategic vendor partnerships while promoting AI literacy and adoption throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in building and scaling AI software products for audiences ranging from thousands to millions of users.

• Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale machine learning infrastructure, focusing on autoscaling, reliability, and optimizing production performance.

• At least 4 years of experience in developing AI and generative AI systems, including creating AI models, fine-tuning LLMs, assessing model quality, and deploying LLM applications in enterprise settings.

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in constructing AI applications and platforms using LLMs, LangChain, LangGraph, RAG, workflow orchestration, MLflow, and AWS Bedrock.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as the owner of an applied AI product domain.

• Practical experience in deploying and managing AI systems using vLLM, Ray, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and Langfuse.

• Over 7 years of professional experience with Python, along with strong expertise in PySpark, Spark Structured Streaming, PyTorch, Scala, and FastAPI.

• Demonstrated experience in developing AI products that enhance healthcare decision-making.

• Proven experience in creating AI platforms for healthcare clients or within the healthcare sector.

• Professional experience with Databricks or Snowflake.

• A total of 12 years of experience working in and with Technology Organizations.

• At least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

• Exceptional executive communication skills, cross-functional leadership, and sound judgment in regulated or high-stakes environments.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

• Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA-regulated environments, SOX, GDPR, or similar frameworks.

• Experience in establishing AI governance, responsible-AI reviews, enterprise standards, or AI literacy initiatives.

• Experience working with strategic vendors, implementation partners, and making complex build-versus-buy decisions.
