This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the company's monthly financial reporting package and the overall presentation of financial statements.
• Review intricate account reconciliations, financial reporting schedules, and closing deliverables.
• Take ownership of significant accounting estimates, judgments, technical accounting issues, and associated conclusions, including the preparation or oversight of necessary technical memos.
• Provide accounting guidance on major transactions, unusual accounting issues, and items that necessitate higher-risk review or escalation.
• Act as the primary accounting liaison for external auditors, assisting in audit planning, issue resolution, and financial statement reviews.
• Oversee the preparation and review of annual audited financial statements and related disclosures.
• Ensure audit readiness through proactive management of accounting documentation, controls, and supporting analyses.
• Supervise the application of accounting policies, decisions regarding reporting structures, governance of charts or mappings where applicable, and the consistency of GAAP presentation across reports and schedules.
• Foster cross-functional accounting risk management by identifying upstream/downstream dependencies, addressing issues early, and representing accounting in broader operational initiatives.
• Develop and manage processes to promote high quality in financial reporting, maintain control effectiveness, and ensure readiness for the issuance of financial statements.
• Maintain overarching authority over accounting systems governance, including the design and management of ERP roles, access reviews, and designated administrative accounting permissions.
• Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, performance management, and scalable team design.
• Establish clear ownership, accountability, and development pathways within the accounting organization.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Revenue Operations, Tax, and business leaders to assess the accounting implications of new products, contracts, acquisitions, strategic initiatives, and changes in business models.
• Provide accounting leadership and decision support for company scaling initiatives and operational transformation efforts.
• Drive continuous improvement within the accounting function to support organizational growth and increasing business complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in financial closing, financial reporting, technical accounting, and internal control environments.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX, financial statement presentation, accounting estimates and judgments, and control-oriented accounting operations.
• Experience in a high-growth SaaS, technology, or similarly complex environment is preferred.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to translate accounting issues into business risks, communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, and exercise sound judgment in escalation.
• Proven capability to enhance controls, improve processes, and lead across cross-functional dependencies while maintaining technical rigor.
• Experience in leading ERP implementations, enhancing accounting systems, or driving finance transformation initiatives is preferred.
