Direct Response & Direct Mail Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement the yearly direct response strategy encompassing direct mail, email, and online contributions, which includes acquisition, renewal, year-end appeals, special campaigns, and monthly/sustainer giving.

• Collaborate on the creative direction of campaigns, including copy and production timelines; manage print and mailing vendors selectively rather than relying on a full-service agency.

• Oversee segmentation, list selection, testing, and donor journeys to enhance retention, average gift size, and conversion rates for sustainers.

• Take charge of program analytics by monitoring costs, responses, revenues, and ROI for each channel and campaign, and provide reports to leadership.

• Manage and optimize the fundraising technology stack; utilize Luminate in the short term and lead the assessment and transition to HubSpot.

• Ensure the integrity of donor data, accuracy in gift coding, and adherence to USPS regulations regarding nonprofit mailing and fundraising.

• Collaborate with development, communications, and finance teams to synchronize messaging, budgets, and revenue objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in direct response fundraising or direct marketing, ideally within a nonprofit environment.

• Proven track record of managing direct mail and email/online campaigns from strategic development through to analysis.

• Practical experience with fundraising/CRM and marketing platforms, with a strong preference for Luminate and/or HubSpot.

• Strong analytical abilities along with a comfort level in segmentation, testing, and ROI reporting.

• Exceptional project management skills and experience in vendor management.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a strong commitment to the conservation mission of American Forests.
