Digital Learning Librarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee library services and asynchronous learning support for a vast, self-paced online community of learners spanning various brands and educational sectors.

• Act as the chief leader for library and information literacy services across Penn Foster Group's online educational institutions.

• Create, implement, and evaluate virtual library services, instructional materials, and student support initiatives that foster academic achievement, information literacy, digital fluency, AI literacy, and lifelong learning.

• Work closely with instructors, instructional designers, academic leaders, and cross-functional teams to incorporate library resources and learning support services into the learner's experience.

• Participate in continuous professional development and stay updated on trends in librarianship, educational technology, artificial intelligence, online learning, and student success to proactively address learner needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Library Science (MLS), or a comparable degree from an ALA-accredited institution.

• Proven experience in designing and delivering online instruction, digital learning resources, or library services that cater to remote learners.

• Experience in providing virtual library services, academic support, or research assistance within online education settings.

• Established ability to create engaging instructional content and learner-focused support materials.

• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in learning and managing various digital platforms and systems.

• Proven capability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities in a remote work setting.

• Self-motivated and directed individual with a clear vision for library services in online educational environments.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Springshare LibGuides CMS and LibCal.

• Experience using WordPress.

• Knowledge of web analytics, usability, or web design.

• Experience in assessing instructional programs, learner engagement, or library services through qualitative and quantitative data.

• Experience in negotiating or managing relationships and contracts with library vendors.

• Teaching experience in writing, composition, rhetoric, research methods, information literacy, or related academic skills.

• Background in supporting adult learners, high school students, or other non-traditional student demographics.

• Experience in online universities, non-traditional higher education, or distance education settings.

• Familiarity with D2L Brightspace or similar learning management systems.
