This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of digital infrastructure projects from site selection through to design and delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, security, environmental, and permitting professionals.
• Manage the project's scope, timeline, budget, quality, and associated risks.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and project partners.
• Assist in site due diligence, feasibility assessments, and infrastructure planning.
• Direct design coordination for cable landing stations, backhaul fiber routes, network support facilities, and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Align utility, power, resilience, security, and operational needs for mission-critical communications facilities.
• Organize design workshops, technical reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Recognize project risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate design deliverables for compliance with client, industry, and AECOM quality standards.
• Aid in construction administration tasks, such as responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, coordinating in the field, and overseeing commissioning.
• Contribute to proposals, project pursuits, and the strategic growth of the business.
• Develop and nurture client relationships while identifying additional service opportunities.
• Mentor junior team members and support the expansion of AECOM's Digital Infrastructure practice.
• Travel domestically and internationally for client meetings, site evaluations, design workshops, milestones, and construction activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Architecture, Construction Management, Information Technology, or a related discipline, along with 8 years of relevant experience, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineer (PE) designation or a similar industry certification is preferred.
• Proven experience in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
• Experience in managing project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Familiarity with telecommunications, digital infrastructure, fiber networks, mission-critical facilities, utility infrastructure, cable landing stations, broadband, carrier networks, or data center initiatives.
• Experience with submarine cable systems, cable landing stations, terrestrial backhaul networks, dark fiber infrastructure, or carrier-neutral facilities.
• Background in supporting international telecommunications infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of telecommunications facility design, network resiliency requirements, and mission-critical infrastructure.
• Experience with permitting, utility coordination, and environmental review processes.
• Proficiency in BIM/Revit, Bluebeam, fiber network planning tools, Civil 3-D, or similar design technologies.
• Strong skills in stakeholder management and client relations.
• Ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
