Digital Buildings Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Execute consultancy and systems engineering projects centered around Digital Building technologies, applications, processes, and standards.

• Uphold FPC's reputation during all client and partner engagements by demonstrating exceptional technical and professional performance.

• Provide consulting and engineering services to clients in alignment with the established Proposal, Scope of Work (SoW), and/or Engagement Letter.

• Analyze and comprehend customer requirements along with their business goals.

• Collaborate proactively with FPC, clients, and other stakeholders to fulfill and deliver these requirements.

• Cultivate and sustain positive relationships with client stakeholders.

• Offer expertise and engage in Digital Building systems integration, technologies, initiatives, solutions, processes, and standards for FPC and our clients.

• Design Digital Building systems and architectures to guarantee optimal performance, functionality, and value.

• Evaluate existing Digital Building systems architectures and designs, pinpointing issues and suggesting enhancements.

• Generate necessary service delivery, technical, and project-related reports.

• Recognize potential revenue opportunities for the FPC business line.

• Relay these opportunities to FPC management.

• Assist in relevant business development activities as needed.

• Maintain expertise, knowledge, and a thorough understanding of industry trends, developments, and initiatives.

• Identify, develop, and support continuous improvement opportunities within FPC.

• Contribute to enhancing project delivery processes, tools, and frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Controls Engineering, a relevant Engineering discipline, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

• A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in Digital Buildings and/or IoT technologies, with a demonstrated track record in roles such as Consultant, Designer, Project Manager, or Engineer.

• Proficiency in Digital Building systems design, development, implementation, and multi-system integration.

• Strong technical skills with Building Management Systems (BMS), Automation, Lighting Control Systems (LCS), Audio Visual Systems (AV), and controls strategy development.

• Comprehensive knowledge of control protocols, including BACnet, MQTT, Modbus, LON, MBus, DALI, Fox, and SMI.

• Capability to produce essential system documentation such as system specifications, architecture development, schematic drawings, Description of Operations (DoO), and asset records.

• Expertise in IP networking (IPv4/IPv6, switching/routing, DHCP, WiFi, structured cabling) and implementing cybersecurity best practices, system audits, and site surveys.

• Exceptional skills in stakeholder management, professional document writing, presentation delivery, design team collaboration, and proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
