This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +12 more states.
• Evaluate and monitor the nutritional status of patients and clients, adjusting nutritional care in accordance with current scientific literature.
• Deliver medical nutrition therapy and counseling, encompassing assessment, education, development, monitoring, and implementation.
• Complete consults and referrals as necessary.
• Integrate nutrition as a component of overall patient/client therapy in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other professionals.
• Create nutritional care plans, assessments, consultations, nutrient intake analyses, and documentation for patient/client education.
• Assess and measure the effectiveness of education provided to patients/clients and their families.
• Develop, evaluate, and utilize suitable educational materials.
• Identify educational needs and assess and document learner responses to instruction.
• Provide or create periodic in-service training for team members and other disciplines.
• Share nutrition research results and findings with medical team members, nursing staff, pharmacy, patients, and the public.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary departments concerning patient/client care and related issues.
• Offer performance feedback on personnel when required or applicable.
• Take part in the orientation, training, and mentoring of team members and dietetic interns under the guidance of the manager.
• Residency in one of the following states is mandatory: Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Vermont, or Washington.
• A Bachelor's degree is required if the Registered Dietitian (RD) credential was obtained before 1/1/2024.
• A Master's degree is necessary if the RD credential was obtained on or after 1/1/2024.
• RD/LDN registry eligibility or being a Registered Dietitian (Commission on Dietetic Registration) is required.
• Must be licensed by the relevant state Board of Dietetics and Nutrition.
• If RD/LDN registry eligible, must achieve RD/LDN registration within 4 months of hiring.
• Specialty certifications such as CDCES, CNSC, or AND Certifications may be required, contingent upon departmental needs.
• Understanding principles of growth and development, along with competency relevant to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the served population.
• Capability to engage in continuous verbal communication.
• Ability to read written communications consistently, both in physical format and on a computer screen.
• Proficiency in composing written communications frequently.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds or less.
• Competence in performing motor skills such as reaching out and up.
• Frequent walking, standing, and sitting; occasional squatting, twisting, and bending.
