
DFM Engineer – Mechanical Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Take the lead in developing mechanical designs with a significant emphasis on manufacturability.
• Independently apply DFM/DFA principles to enhance part design, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
• Manage design adjustments based on manufacturing limitations and client feedback.
• Create comprehensive, production-ready engineering documentation.
• Perform simulations and engineering verifications utilizing ANSYS or similar software.
• Oversee tolerance analysis, material selection, and design validation processes.
• Proactively recognize design risks and drive their resolution.
• Utilize practical knowledge of manufacturing methods (CNC machining, sheet metal, casting, molding, etc.) to inform design and process decisions.
• Establish material, finish, and process specifications for production components.
• Assess supplier capabilities and incorporate manufacturing constraints into designs.
• Collaborate closely with the Head Engineer while taking independent responsibility for client deliverables.
• Lead or co-facilitate virtual meetings with U.S.-based clients and internal teams.
• Clearly communicate design intent, modifications, and trade-offs in a remote environment.
• Contribute to enhancing internal engineering workflows and standards.
• A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in mechanical design with a strong focus on DFM.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and practical production constraints.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient written and verbal English skills for effective professional collaboration with clients.
• Preferred: Hands-on experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Proficiency in ANSYS or other simulation tools.
• A diverse background across various industries (automotive, aerospace, medical, consumer, or industrial).
• Previous experience working with international or U.S.-based clients in a remote setting.
