DevOps Specialist – Engineering Platform, IDP, Backstage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the migration of engineering platforms (IDP).

• Design, implement, and enhance platform infrastructure with an emphasis on operational continuity, security, and resilience.

• Architect and modernize current CI/CD pipelines, fostering automation, standardization, and rapid feedback cycles.

• Maintain high standards of availability, reliability, and performance throughout transition and modernization efforts.

• Manage and optimize containerized environments, facilitating a progressive migration to modern orchestrators and leading market platforms.

• Propel the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within existing environments, enhancing governance, traceability, and scalability.

• Create application templates on platforms like Backstage or similar.

• Advocate for DevOps and GitOps practices as the organization's standard operating model.

• Act as a technical resource, mentoring engineers and aiding in the technical advancement of teams.

• Define and implement platform modernization strategies that strike a balance between cost, performance, risk, and business value.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with cloud environments (AWS or Azure).

• Expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS), including migration scenarios from legacy systems.

• Familiarity with observability tools.

• Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) applicable to both existing and new environments.

• Significant experience in DevOps automation, CI/CD, and GitOps methodologies.

• Effective, strategic communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Demonstrated technical leadership in transformation and organizational change contexts.

• Strong analytical skills for resolving complex issues.

• Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and lead structural projects.

• Capability to justify technical decisions considering business impact, risk, and operational consequences.

• Prior experience with Backstage is a plus.
