DevOps Security Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide continuous guidance on DevOps and security to both engineering teams and leadership.

• Evaluate the existing infrastructure (cloud, CI/CD, access management) and suggest enhancements.

• Perform regular security audits and risk evaluations.

• Offer advice on and assist with the implementation of best practices in cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection.

• Support incident response for security-related occurrences and aid in refining our incident response protocols.

• Assess and enhance deployment pipelines and system architecture.

• Aid in the selection and implementation of security tools (monitoring, alerting, vulnerability scanning).

• Help ensure compliance with SOC 2 and other relevant compliance standards.

• Collaborate with the engineering team on secure system design and new builds as necessary.

• Document recommendations and keep concise security playbooks updated.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Security Engineering.

• Extensive experience with the AWS platform.

• Profound understanding of:

• Infrastructure security and hardening.

• Identity and access management (IAM).

• CI/CD security.

• Incident response and monitoring.

• Experience with supporting SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.

• Ability to work independently in a low-hour, high-impact role.

• Excellent communication skills—capable of translating risk into actionable steps.
