This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Collaborate with software engineering, QA, solutions delivery, engineering, sales, and product management to coordinate, automate, and govern the complete release lifecycle.
• Strategize release cadences, manage branching and merging techniques, orchestrate deployments across various environments, and ensure quality gates are satisfied before code enters production.
• Contribute to the design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of proprietary build, packaging, and deployment automation aimed at enhancing software delivery operations.
• Take ownership of and drive the execution of the IntelliVIEW software release checklist from start to finish, holding accountable parties to timelines throughout pre-code-cutoff, beta, code-freeze, pre-release, release, and post-release phases for each major version.
• Lead release planning by solidifying scope with the Portfolio Manager and development managers, managing fix versions in JIRA, establishing and communicating realistic target release dates, and coordinating code cutoff along with the creation of the release branch.
• Oversee source control branching, merging, tagging, and versioning strategies; develop, test, and debug code and scripts used for building, packaging, and deploying both Desktop and Server-based applications, alongside post-install files to ShareFile for distribution.
• Ensure quality gates are met, collaborating with the QA Manager to validate Zephyr Scale test plan execution prior to code freeze and release, enforcing JIRA hygiene so all version issues are resolved or rescheduled, and leading the formal go/no-go meeting with sign-off from Management, Engineering, and Product.
• Manage release communications across Software Development, Solutions Delivery, Marketing, Sales, Support, and Engineering, providing code cutoff notifications, beta availability announcements, stakeholder release updates, and organizing release review meetings.
• Design, implement, and monitor build, deployment, and configuration pipelines and standards; maintain release documentation, runbooks, and audit-ready records of all production changes; track post-release KPIs (adoption rate, customer-reported bugs, reported vs. resolved) with QA; and lead the lessons-learned retrospective with Sales, Support, Development, and Engineering.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in Computer Science or Engineering-related fields, or specialized training in coding.
• Proficiency with Microsoft .NET build, packaging, and installer tools such as MS Build, Wix, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, branching/merging strategies, semantic versioning, and formal release management and change control processes.
• Proven experience with scripting languages/tools including Powershell, Python, or Windows Batch.
• Familiarity with managing and configuring Agile project management tools such as Atlassian JIRA.
• Experience in managing and configuring build pipelines, CI/CD, and deployment orchestration utilizing platforms like Azure DevOps, including release gates, approvals, and environment promotion.
• Knowledge in provisioning and administering cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google.
• Capability to create detailed documentation, release notes, runbooks, and training materials, as well as facilitate training on release and DevOps practices.
• Over 3 years of experience in a Release Engineering, DevOps, or comparable role, showcasing demonstrated ownership of production deployments.
• Exceptional problem-solving and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently.
• Must attain knowledge of Alpine Software Configuration Management tools/processes within 90 days of hire.
• ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
• We value the unique perspectives, experiences, and ideas of our colleagues.
