DevOps Lead – Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay.

📋 Description

• Oversee the infrastructure and design systems for a $1B+ e-commerce platform.

• Take ownership of cloud infrastructure and the DevOps/DataOps strategy.

• Architect and scale AWS infrastructure, including S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Lambda, and ECS.

• Lead the implementation of Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform/Terragrunt.

• Construct and enhance CI/CD pipelines for rapid deployment.

• Design and advance ETL pipelines and data platform architecture.

• Propel containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Establish observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

• Ensure security, compliance, and cost-effective cloud operations.

• Lead incident management initiatives to enhance system reliability.

• Define DevOps/DataOps standards across various teams.

• Mentor engineers to elevate technical standards and excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering.

• Proven success in designing and scaling AWS infrastructure.

• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform/Terragrunt.

• Extensive experience in building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.

• Hands-on expertise in data architecture and ETL pipelines.

• Advanced scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, or similar languages.

• Significant experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production settings.

• In-depth understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and reliability engineering principles.

• Experience in leading architectural decisions and managing incidents.

• Established ability to mentor engineers effectively.
