This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Lead and expand the DevOps team.
• Manage, mentor, and nurture a team of DevOps engineers by establishing standards, conducting one-on-ones, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
• Define the team's roadmap, prioritize initiatives, and effectively communicate the infrastructure strategy to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Serve as the final decision-maker for architectural and tooling selections; take ownership of outcomes from start to finish.
• Complete the transformation to Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Propel Reap to achieve full Infrastructure as Code coverage: eliminating manual provisioning and drift.
• Architect and manage Terraform (or similar) codebases across multi-region, multi-account AWS environments.
• Establish governance, module standards, and implement automated drift detection to ensure infrastructure remains the definitive source of truth.
• Create disposable, ephemeral development environments.
• Design and implement a platform for ephemeral environments, enabling every developer (and AI coding agent) to access a fully isolated, production-like environment on demand.
• Take ownership of the deployment and delivery platform.
• Scale and enhance our ECS environments: including cluster management, deployment strategies, and autoscaling.
• Promote platform reliability and security.
• Oversee cloud operations for high-throughput, regulated financial systems: ensuring uptime, failover, and incident response.
• Over 13 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, with a minimum of 2–3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven leadership experience: You have previously led a DevOps or platform engineering team.
• Depth in IaC: You have managed a complete IaC migration or have built IaC from the ground up at scale.
• Proficiency in Terraform is second nature to you.
• Expertise in AWS: Strong knowledge of AWS Control Tower, AWS networking (VPCs, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink), IAM, RDS, and cost management.
• AI-era DevOps perspective: You actively consider the implications of AI coding assistants, agents, and automated workflows on developer infrastructure.
• Technical versatility: Comfortable with Python or Go for automation, Bash scripting, GitHub Actions, and observability tools.
• Opportunities for professional development.
• Options for remote work.
