DevOps Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and lead the infrastructure roadmap for both cloud and hybrid environments.

• Spearhead the implementation and acceptance of Kubernetes throughout the platform.

• Enhance and scale CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment processes.

• Develop and uphold Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies utilizing OpenTofu/Terraform.

• Oversee and fine-tune AWS infrastructure, including networking, observability, and reliability.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Data teams to facilitate production systems and data infrastructure.

• Guide developers in best practices for infrastructure and operations.

• Lead and mentor an expanding DevOps team while fostering robust engineering standards.

• Promote proactive enhancements rather than reactive operational crisis management.

• Assist in scalability efforts to support ongoing rapid customer expansion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in operating and scaling AWS infrastructure within production settings.

• Profound knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized infrastructure.

• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or OpenTofu.

• Background in building and enhancing CI/CD systems utilizing GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI.

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Loki, CloudWatch, or comparable systems.

• Experience in startup or rapidly growing engineering environments.

• Knowledge of AI infrastructure or MLOps environments is advantageous.

• Demonstrated experience leading DevOps or Platform Engineering teams.

• Strong capacity to operate independently and proactively shape infrastructure strategy.

• Comfortable collaborating with senior engineering stakeholders on architectural decisions.

• Experience in mentoring and coaching developers as well as less experienced infrastructure engineers.

• Possess a strong ownership mindset with the capability to drive initiatives from start to finish.

• Familiarity with working in regulated environments and exposure to GDPR, SOC2, or ISO standards is a plus.
