DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iraq.

📋 Description

• Assist in fulfilling mission requirements for the ongoing development, integration, and maintenance of a scalable, federated data ecosystem.

• Develop and manage environment-specific Kubernetes configuration packages, which include Helm values files and YAML manifests.

• Apply STIG-aligned hardening and enforce RBAC policies according to IL environment standards.

• Execute and oversee secrets injection strategies utilizing FedRAMP-compliant tools such as AWS Secrets Manager and Azure Key Vault.

• Integrate CI/CD pipelines to enable secure, automated deployment and rollback of ArcGIS components and associated services.

• Collaborate with Kubernetes and Data Layer Engineers on version control, pipeline integrity, and integration testing for containerized services under WO-003.

• Work alongside the WO-009 infrastructure team to estimate cloud resource consumption for Kubernetes deployments in IL2, IL4, and IL5 environments.

• Provide container and workload specifications to facilitate provisioning, tagging, and prepay or reservation planning.

• Implement resource tagging in accordance with the overarching cloud governance policy of the program.

• Compare actual resource usage against estimates provided by WO-009.

• Assist in cost optimization by modifying workloads and scaling strategies based on performance and utilization insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in DevOps engineering.

• Familiarity and ability to design, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines.

• Competence in automating infrastructure management to ensure scalable deployments across both cloud and on-premises environments.

• Expertise in Kubernetes and Docker.

• Proficiency in Terraform and Ansible.

• Proficiency in Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

• Solid understanding of security best practices.

• In-depth knowledge of monitoring/logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

• Experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.

• Experience in automating cloud infrastructure.

• Experience in implementing secure, high-availability CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with microservices architecture.

• Experience with service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd.

• Familiarity with observability tools.

• No clearance is required.

• Preferred but not mandatory: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, or Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert.
