DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.

📋 Description

• Engaging in strategic project-planning meetings.

• Accountable for the development and construction of IT solutions.

• Configuring management automation, conducting health checks, handling points of failure, and setting up notifications.

• Ensuring adherence to operational best practices by collaborating closely with deployment and release teams.

• Identifying appropriate tools and implementing processes to automate manual tasks.

• Creating automated deployments utilizing configuration management technology.

• Performing routine application maintenance and assisting in the development of requirements and procedures for maintenance implementation.

• Diagnosing and resolving errors in existing information systems.

• Assessing current applications and platforms, providing recommendations for performance enhancement through gap analysis, identifying practical alternative solutions, and supporting modifications.

• Researching and acquiring new technologies and related tools to foster growth in the agile development environment.

• Offering direct server support during various operations, including deployment and general production tasks.

• Collaborating with developers to ensure new environments meet requirements and comply with best practices.

• Designing, implementing, and testing the agreed-upon infrastructures.

• Automating the deployment of Linux applications, system configurations, and security settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• At least two (2) years of relevant technical experience in providing SAAS/hosted delivery.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience with Python and other scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, etc.

• Proficiency in developing and maintaining CI/CD processes for enterprise SaaS and on-prem applications using tools like Git, Jenkins, Maven, etc.

• Strong expertise in Linux System Administration and Bash Scripting.

• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Fabric, Puppet, or SaltStack.

• Practical experience in building and administering VMs and Containers using tools like Docker, Vagrant, and Kubernetes.

• Experience in designing and maintaining cloud-based solutions using Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services.

• Solid operational experience in Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages: Shell, Perl, Python.

• Robust background in Linux/Unix Administration.

• Experience with Source Control systems (like Git, Bitbucket, SVN, etc.).

• Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools (like Jenkins, Bamboo).

• Knowledge of Infrastructure Automation tools (like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, SaltStack, etc.).

• Experience with Deployment Automation & Orchestration tools (like Jenkins, VSTS, Octopus Deploy).

• Understanding of Container Concepts (LXD, Docker).

• Familiarity with Orchestration (Kubernetes, Mesos, Swarm).

• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus since we also utilize Redis).

• A working knowledge of code and scripting (PHP, JavaScript, and/or Ruby) is advantageous.

• Understanding of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service environment.
