DevOps Engineer

📋 Description

• Engage in daily scrum meetings.

• Conduct software requirements analysis, identify risks, and implement risk mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with Agile teams across various functions.

• Design, create, and maintain databases within a client/server framework.

• Strategize and execute the migration of databases and related data from physical/IaaS environments to virtual AWS instances.

• Configure databases to ensure optimal performance, resilience, replication, reporting, administration, and data backup/archiving processes.

• Design, implement, and maintain intricate databases with considerations for SQL, access methods, access times, device allocation, validation checks, data organization, security, documentation, and statistical methods.

• Utilize knowledge and experience in database technologies, development methodologies, and both front-end (e.g., COGNOS) and back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL).

• Execute database programming and support system design initiatives.

• Contribute to the creation of runbooks for the maintenance of database dictionaries.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in software engineering.

• Significant experience in developing software code utilizing AWS Services, Jira, Confluence, TestRail, SonarQube, Robot, Python, Bitbucket, Jenkins, TerraForm, Ansible, Unix bash scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Extensive experience in translating user stories into engineering deliverables and corresponding documentation.

• Engage in systems software development, including the deployment of build artifacts across various environments while leveraging GitFlow constructs.

• Substantial experience with automated build, test, and deployment processes.

• Considerable expertise in AWS, and as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Wintel, Unix, virtualized networking, monitoring, and security.

• Familiarity with SAFe methodologies and the ability to work autonomously.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering results on key milestones and targets.

• Excellent English skills in writing and interpersonal communication.

• Must be a UK Citizen and reside in the UK for the duration of employment.

• Must possess, or be able to obtain, UK SC Clearance.
