DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee the infrastructure that operates Kubernetes in both public and private cloud environments, while maintaining and providing support for Hashicorp Vault and Consul.

• Create and sustain a resilient infrastructure in AWS utilizing Infrastructure As Code principles. Develop automation scripts and tools for system provisioning, configuration management, and deployment.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to comprehend software development and deployment needs, offering technical advice on infrastructure and DevOps best practices.

• Continuously monitor and evaluate system performance metrics, implementing enhancements to improve scalability, availability, and security.

• Detect and address infrastructure challenges, including performance bottlenecks, network connectivity issues, and security vulnerabilities.

• Guarantee high availability and disaster recovery capabilities by establishing backup, failover, and recovery processes.

• Implement and uphold security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.

• Conduct regular system audits and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends, assessing their potential impact on our infrastructure and DevOps practices.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience as a DevOps Engineer.

• **In-depth expertise in Kubernetes,** encompassing deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Hashicorp Vault and Consul, including secret management, access controls, and service discovery.

• Proficient in scripting and automation utilizing tools such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.

• Strong grasp of infrastructure-as-code principles with experience in tools like Terraform or Ansible.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and associated tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.

• Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a strong attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
