This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nicaragua.
• Take full ownership of production infrastructure, ensuring availability, performance, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and security.
• Design and enhance AWS architecture to meet both current and future platform requirements.
• Implement practices for observability and operations, including monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, and postmortems.
• Construct and maintain containerized workloads and orchestration methodologies, utilizing Docker and Kubernetes where applicable.
• Develop and uphold Infrastructure-as-Code standards through tools such as Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines for dependable deployments and swift rollbacks, using technologies like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Administer and optimize databases and data services, focusing on performance tuning and resilience for PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
• Support data-intensive systems and ETL pipelines, ensuring stability and high throughput at scale.
• Enhance networking and security measures, including VPC design, firewalls/security groups, SSL/TLS, and IAM/access controls.
• Influence technical decision-making with an eye on long-term business effects, balancing speed, reliability, and sustainable growth.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to establish clear ownership boundaries and operating rhythms across various teams.
• Demonstrated experience in direct ownership of production cloud systems.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, SQS, DynamoDB, and RDS for PostgreSQL in a production environment.
• In-depth understanding of DevOps and system operations, particularly in incident response and reliability practices.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience in implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Background in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with experience in Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Solid foundation in database management and optimization, particularly with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
• Comprehensive understanding of networking and security principles, including VPCs, SSL/TLS, and access controls.
• Proficiency in English (C1) and Spanish (C1).
