This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.
• Design, develop, and oversee the deployment and release pipelines along with release automation.
• Enhance and refine internal release tools, which encompass script packaging, DBA approvals, code and script deployments, and workflows for completing releases.
• Progress the CI/CD GitOps methodology by creating reusable GitLab CI templates, Helm charts, and ArgoCD applications.
• Containerize and modernize QA and lower environments through the use of Kubernetes, Helm, and Ansible.
• Update build tools across the organization to meet modern standards.
• Participate in daily team stand-ups and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across US and UK time zones.
• Diagnose deployment and infrastructure challenges, resolving environment-specific issues alongside engineering teams.
• Utilize AI tools like Claude Code and Claude Cowork for tasks such as testing, automation, investigation, refactoring, and reducing toil.
• Write clean, well-tested automation scripts in Python, Bash, and shell.
• Assist in the creation of documentation, runbooks, and developer enablement resources.
• Mentor colleagues, lead priority discussions, and take independent ownership of intricate cross-cutting initiatives.
• A mindset focused on automation and the ability to automate repetitive tasks effectively.
• Capability to navigate complex problems independently while offering support to less experienced colleagues.
• Proficiency in scripting and developing tools using Python and Bash/shell.
• Practical experience with CI/CD systems, including GitLab CI/CD and/or Jenkins, along with pipeline development and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience in creating full-stack automation tools that incorporate Python backends and JavaScript frontend/UI components.
• Background in GitOps and/or infrastructure-as-code with configuration management tools like ArgoCD or Ansible.
• Comfortable with Git-based workflows and contemporary versioning practices.
• Willingness to leverage AI tools to enhance both individual and team performance.
• Commitment to reliability, security, and developer experience, paired with strong communication skills.
• Bonus: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Bonus: Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure, including RDS.
• Bonus: Experience with Octopus Deploy, Nexus, or Artifactory.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, Backstage, Rancher, or ELK.
• Bonus: Familiarity with SQL Server and collaboration with DBAs on script and schema deployments.
