Development Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Build and nurture relationships with landowners, community stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project approvals.

• Oversee third-party consultants, attorneys, and vendors involved in the permitting and land acquisition processes.

• Supervise all permitting activities for renewable energy initiatives, guaranteeing compliance with both state and federal regulations.

• Collaborate with legal, environmental, and technical teams to ensure that all required studies, surveys, and documentation are finalized to support permitting and land acquisition efforts.

• Track and manage timelines and budgets for permitting and environmental studies to align with project deadlines.

• Interact with local governments, public officials, and community organizations to address concerns, communicate project advantages, and secure community support.

• Stay informed about regulatory and policy developments that affect land acquisition and permitting for renewable energy projects.

• Navigate site and regulatory obstacles at complex locations to guarantee project success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related discipline;

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the offered position or a similar role;

• Familiarity with land use regulations, environmental permitting processes, and zoning laws;

• Experience in assessing land and utility distribution networks for optimal placement of renewable projects;

• Proven experience in engaging with local governments, public officials, and community organizations to grasp clean energy project priorities;

• Understanding of regulatory and policy changes that influence renewable energy initiatives.
