This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
• Act as the head of the Company's remediation team, providing technical leadership, strategic vision, and career coaching.
• Oversee individual remediation projects as necessary.
• Monitor ongoing remediation expenditures and update the annual remediation forecast, reporting any significant changes to the Central Finance team quarterly.
• Collaborate with the remediation team and Central Finance members to prepare the Company’s annual environmental liability estimate, including the creation of individual project estimates in compliance with US GAAP guidelines, thorough review of the estimate, and assistance with third-party audits as required.
• Develop the Company’s Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) estimate following ASTM guidelines.
• Monitor and report on the Company’s environmental financial assurance obligations and bonding capacity, conveying the Company’s position to senior management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Rangeland Ecology, or related fields.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in mining and/or industrial environmental remediation.
• Direct involvement in projects governed by the CERCLA program.
• Proficiency in preparing environmental liability estimates and ARO in accordance with US GAAP and ASTM standards.
• Proven project management capabilities, including detailed project scoping, budgeting, expenditure tracking, stakeholder communication, and timely completion of tasks.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of Company personnel, regulatory bodies, special interest groups, and the general public.
