• Develop and sustain demos, sample applications, reference architectures, tutorials, and technical tools that assist developers in grasping the capabilities of Tailscale.
• Produce technical content tailored for developers, which includes blog entries, documentation, videos, presentations, workshops, livestreams, and conference sessions.
• Represent Tailscale at various events, conferences, meetups, community gatherings, and discussions aimed at developers.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, marketing, support, and community teams to pinpoint developer challenges and transform that feedback into enhanced product experiences.
• Aid developers in understanding Tailscale’s primary connectivity product, along with emerging areas such as secure AI access, privileged access management, identity, infrastructure security, and developer tooling.
• Contribute to open source initiatives, examples, and integrations where applicable.
• Engage in public technical discussions through GitHub issues, pull requests, community forums, social media channels, and other developer feedback mechanisms.
• Help shape what an exceptional developer experience looks like at Tailscale, from initial interaction to production usage.
• Strong foundation in software engineering, with proven experience in building, debugging, and delivering real-world projects.
• Capability to create clear and valuable code samples, demos, tutorials, and technical content for developer audiences.
• Profound curiosity about system operations, particularly in areas like networking, infrastructure, security, identity, cloud, open source, or developer tooling.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and creatively.
• Experience addressing technical audiences, whether through conferences, meetups, livestreams, workshops, podcasts, videos, or internal engineering discussions.
• Comfortable engaging publicly via GitHub issues, pull requests, community forums, social media channels, open source projects, and developer feedback loops.
• Strong developer empathy, emotional intelligence, and product insight.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, marketing, support, community, and other technical stakeholders.
• Capable of working independently, selecting high-impact projects, and seeing them through from conception to execution.
• Ability to manage multiple workflows and adhere to regular publishing, event, or launch timelines.
• Comfortable presenting on stage and in front of the camera to developer audiences.
• Willingness to travel for events, conferences, and community engagements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven history of constructing and elucidating technical systems.
