Detection Researcher, Coding Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and analysis on advanced techniques for bypassing detection (such as rooting, hooking, and tampering with applications/systems) to evaluate threats to our detection mechanisms.

• Assess and reverse-engineer tools and frameworks utilized for attacking or avoiding our products, while documenting findings and identifying attack vectors.

• Lead and engage in organized brainstorming sessions aimed at generating innovative detection concepts and countermeasures.

• Assist in the design, prototyping, and implementation of new detection techniques and algorithms across various operating systems.

• Aid in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of internal tools and automation to expedite analysis, triage, and the evolution of detection processes.

• Participate in and contribute to internal penetration testing and adversary emulation of newly introduced security features to verify their effectiveness.

• Execute comprehensive code reviews and technical evaluations of detection-related contributions to ensure high quality, maintainability, and accuracy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting, including the capacity to form and lead focused sub-groups to achieve specific project features or research goals.

• Expertise in reverse engineering using tools like IDA Pro, Ghidra, or similar, including experience in scripting, utilizing their SDKs, and identifying and reporting technical issues.

• Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, and Java, with the capability to produce efficient, maintainable, and secure code.

• Good understanding of the ELF and MachO file formats, along with a general proficiency in consulting official documentation.

• Familiarity with the LLVM framework is considered advantageous.

• Knowledge of code obfuscation and de-obfuscation techniques, as well as an awareness of community tools and methodologies in this area, is a significant asset.
