This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee data center due diligence and design teams spanning architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection, ICT, and BMS/EPMS disciplines.
• Execute colocation and hyper-scale data center projects from site assessment and campus planning through design, construction documentation, and administration.
• Create and implement multi-site project and program management strategies.
• Facilitate and participate in meetings with clients and external stakeholders.
• Proactively oversee and convey project modifications both within AECOM and to clients.
• Detect issues early and devise innovative solutions.
• Provide project updates and address unresolved matters with stakeholders.
• Prepare technical and financial proposals for new and add/move/change data center design initiatives.
• Build trusting relationships with client stakeholders and buyers.
• Work collaboratively with global AECOM data center teams on high-profile assignments.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings, critical project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, and other essential business activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, along with ten (10) years of relevant experience, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required, equivalent to 120 months.
• Experience in managing the design of colocation and hyper-scale data centers.
• Background in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering is essential.
• Preference for 12 years of relevant experience in design and/or project management.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License is preferred.
• A Master’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
• Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional status is preferred.
• Preference for 12 years in colocation and/or hyper-scale data center design management and engineering.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Capability to operate in dynamic, time-sensitive environments with minimal oversight.
• Proven team leadership abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
