Design Manager, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee data center due diligence and design teams to ensure project delivery aligns with client specifications.

• Design areas will encompass architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection, ICT, and BMS/EPMS.

• Create and implement project and program management plans for multiple sites.

• Facilitate and participate in meetings with clients and external stakeholders.

• Actively manage and relay changes throughout the project lifecycle.

• Detect issues early and formulate innovative solutions.

• Prepare technical and financial proposals for new and modification data center design projects.

• Cultivate trustworthy relationships with client stakeholders and buyers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

• A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.

• Master’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (preferred).

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or Architecture License.

• Twelve (12) years of relevant experience in design and/or project management (preferred).

• Lean Six Sigma Certification (preferred).

• Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional designation (preferred).

• Recent or current leadership role in a data center and mission-critical trade organization (preferred).

• Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral).

• Capability to function in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments with minimal supervision.

• Proven team leadership abilities.
