Design Manager, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Supervise a diverse range of colocation and hyper-scale data center initiatives

• Oversee the design process for colocation and hyper-scale data centers

• Perform site evaluations and campus planning

• Create conceptual, schematic, and detailed designs leading to construction documentation

• Manage construction administration tasks

• Lead teams focused on data center due diligence and design

• Execute projects that align with client expectations in terms of schedule and quality

• Organize and participate in meetings with clients and external partners

• Proactively oversee and communicate any project changes

• Detect issues early and formulate innovative solutions

• Prepare technical and financial proposals for data center design initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

• Ten (10) years of relevant experience or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education

• Master’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (preferred)

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License (preferred)

• Twelve (12) years of relevant experience in design and/or project management (preferred)

• Lean Six Sigma Certification (preferred)

• Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional (preferred)

• Recent or active leadership role in data center and mission-critical trade organizations (preferred)

• Twelve (12) years in colocation and/or hyper-scale data center design management & engineering (preferred)
