Design Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee architectural and engineering design initiatives for data center projects throughout the EMEA region.

• Collaborate with global design standards teams (Mechanical, Power, Structural) to maintain uniformity across regions.

• Foster relationships with regional architecture, engineering, and design consultants.

• Evaluate and authorize design packages, ensuring adherence to local codes and regulations.

• Collaborate with Site Delivery and Land Acquisition teams to tailor designs to site-specific challenges.

• Assist in value engineering efforts to enhance cost efficiency and construction timelines.

• Facilitate design reviews with both internal stakeholders and external collaborators.

• Keep abreast of regional building codes, sustainability standards, and construction methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in architectural or engineering design for data centers or mission-critical facilities.

• In-depth understanding of EMEA building codes, permitting procedures, and construction practices.

• Proven experience in managing external design consultants and multi-disciplinary design teams.

• Demonstrated success in delivering complex technical designs within budget and on schedule.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across regional and global teams.

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related discipline.

• Professional accreditation (e.g., RIBA, chartered engineer) is preferred.

• Readiness to travel throughout the EMEA region as required.
