This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Assist in the design and development of Interior Systems components, focusing on Instrument Panels and Floor Consoles, by reviewing technical specifications, engineering drawings, CAD data, and Bills of Material (BOM) throughout the vehicle development process.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Purchasing, Vehicle Programs, Suppliers) to facilitate RFQs, engineering modifications, technical evaluations, and benchmarking initiatives related to interior components.
• Create basic to intermediate cost estimates and “Should Cost” analyses, assessing the financial implications of design choices, materials (plastics, trims, assemblies), and manufacturing methods while supporting cost reduction efforts.
• Offer technical and cost-related insights to aid in supplier negotiations, cost gap assessments, and commodity strategies utilizing internal costing techniques and databases.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in Engineering or Technical Design positions, ideally within the automotive sector.
• Experience in the design or development of Interior Systems, particularly Instrument Panels (IP), Floor Consoles, or interior trim components and assemblies.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong enthusiasm and desire to learn and engage in costing activities.
• Prior experience with cost analysis, should-cost models, or technical costing is advantageous.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
