Design Engineer – Forward Deployed Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Create and develop products that facilitate business growth.

• Serve as a research hub for one client, a micro app for another, and a comprehensive marketing site for yet another.

• Take full ownership from initial concept to production-ready code.

• Engage in design directly within the browser rather than solely relying on Figma.

• Produce authentic React and TypeScript code that is delivered to actual users.

• Collaborate directly with clients.

• Participate in kickoff meetings, comprehend the product and its audience, and suggest optimal design aesthetics.

• Set high visual standards for client projects.

• Develop design patterns, component libraries, and design guidelines.

• Understand the capabilities of **Output.ai**.

• Recommend the most suitable product experience for each situation.

• A designer with coding skills.

• Think in components rather than just pixels.

• Proficient in React, TypeScript, and Tailwind.

• Transform a rough concept into a functional prototype in the browser faster than most designers can complete their first Figma frame.

• Prioritize taste over lengthy processes.

• Hold strong design opinions.

• Value craftsmanship—expressed through speed rather than meticulousness.

• Emphasize progress over perfection.

• Prototype rapidly, launch swiftly, and refine based on actual user engagement rather than assumptions.

• Possess a product-oriented mindset.

• Focus on user objectives and identify the simplest path to achieving outcomes.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity.

• Convert vague briefs into clear concepts without needing every detail outlined.

• Be AI-native.

• Work proficiently within Claude Code.
