Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct system studies that encompass short circuit, arc flash, load flow, and harmonics analysis.

• Employ tools such as PSSE, ETAP, EasyPower, and other relevant software.

• Assist in system planning and protection analysis to guarantee safe and reliable system design.

• Execute advanced studies, including transient overvoltage (TOV), transient recovery voltage (TRV), insulation coordination, and harmonics analysis.

• Provide detailed transient and insulation performance analysis for renewable energy interconnections.

• Offer high-quality technical support to generator owners involved in wind, solar, and BESS projects.

• Thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment with a strong sense of ownership.

• Utilize Python scripting and automation to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of study processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required, from an ABET accredited program or equivalent.

• At least 2 years of work experience, including a minimum of 1 year directly related to power systems.

• Familiarity with EasyPower, ETAP, PSSE, and/or PSCAD is preferred.

• Experience with Python programming is preferred.

• Capable of independently completing assigned tasks and effectively managing personal workload.

• EIT status or actively pursuing EIT status is necessary.

• Must be a self-starter, eager to identify and implement improvements, utilizing support from others as needed.

• Comfortable asking questions to team members when acquiring new skills.

• Must possess strong analytical skills, be self-motivated, and able to function in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic demeanor.

• Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills are required.

• Demonstrates strong interpersonal abilities, capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, management, clients, and external agencies.

• Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
