This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Design and manage complex metal building system projects.
• Implement structural engineering principles and adhere to company design standards for custom building scenarios.
• Ensure all designs meet structural codes, customer specifications, manufacturing standards, and company guidelines.
• Provide professional supervision and engineering accountability for projects requiring signature and seal.
• Collaborate directly with clients to create optimized building solutions.
• Oversee project timelines, adapt to shifting priorities, and handle last-minute changes to guarantee timely delivery.
• Utilize engineering judgment to balance efficiency, design conservatism, and public safety.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers.
• Identify opportunities for design enhancements and cost savings.
• Take on supervisory duties in the absence of the Engineering Manager.
• Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer; PE or SE licensure is mandatory.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Have a minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience in metal building design or structural engineering.
• Demonstrated capability to design medium- to high-complexity metal buildings.
• Ability to produce sealed design documents when necessary.
• Proficient in structural design and modeling software such as RISA, STAAD, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to ensure accuracy and thoroughness while enhancing productivity and minimizing manufacturing and drafting costs.
