This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The DE will assist throughout the design project life cycle, ranging from sales concepts to design development, and from construction drawings to support during construction administration.
• Acts as a contributor for intricate projects and collaborates directly with clients and the Design Engineering team to establish specifications, designs, budgets, timelines, and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Visualize system designs and ascertain system requirements.
• Offer technical expertise along with coordination information to facilitate the architecture, installation, and planning of electronic security solutions.
• Create estimates and proposals for ESS projects.
• Prepare the Bill of Materials (BOM) along with supporting documentation.
• Generate comprehensive 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC drawings.
• Research, identify, and recommend technological options for clients.
• Maintain industry expertise through continuous review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars, and educational forums. May also write articles and/or analyze trends.
• Provide guidance and direction to junior personnel involved in engineering projects and assist in resolving issues.
• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• An associate's degree is required and/or equivalent experience.
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD, BIM, and MS Office 365.
• Certifications or training in Milestone and Lenel is preferred.
• Certifications or training in Genetec, Avigilon, and S2 is also preferred.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical systems design is required.
• Must be eligible to obtain a government-issued Top Secret Clearance (for US-based candidates only).
• A clear understanding of project phases including Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction, and Commissioning is essential.
• Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the construction process, installation, integration, as well as architectural and construction drawings and specifications is necessary.
• Occasional travel by car and occasional airplane trips are necessary. Employees must hold a valid driver’s license in their state of residence. Employees will be required to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate.
