Design and Manufacturing Operations Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and programs.

• Cultivate client relationships that yield insights and bidding opportunities for the organization.

• Take ownership of program coordination from the bidding phase to contract award, encompassing delivery and production stages.

• Create and oversee detailed program schedules that align with customer milestones.

• Facilitate cross-functional execution involving engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain.

• Ensure that all deliverables satisfy client technical requirements, specifications, and quality standards.

• Conduct regular program review meetings with client stakeholders.

• Proactively identify risks and drive their resolution.

• Manage the scope of contracts, including change orders and commercial terms.

• Oversee the performance of suppliers and sub-tier vendors.

• Assist with hardware assembly, qualification testing, and readiness for delivery.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (ITAR, export controls).

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

• Over 7 years of experience in program or project management within the aerospace or manufacturing sectors.

• Experience working as a supplier/vendor for major aerospace clients.

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex hardware programs.

• PMP certification.

• Familiarity with production ramp-up and scaling processes.
